Anyone know why the Easyjet service Zurich - Manchester has been cancelled from March 2012 and if it will return next Winter?

Fees vs volume = no profit.

Same reason we don't get an Edinburgh -> Zurich at all. Two overpriced airports and not enough potential passengers.

BMI fly Zurich to Edinburgh .. at least they did yesterday .. good price too.

It's finished, hopefully Swiss will keep their prices as they are now but I doubt it somehow!

Swiss do fly 3 times daily 7 days a week to Manchester.

Maybe search for "Manchester" ?

Yep Bmi from Edinburgh (and Swiss to Manchester) is well known, but is twice the price. Thought OP was asking about sleazyjet?

They are letting you know that we have three threads on this flight route already. I wrote to Easyjet to say it was a shame they were cancelling the route, no response whatsoever was received.

You probably forgot to include the £5 response fee (each way) along with the £10 passenger interaction levy

You're adding on a Swiss train journey which from Zurich is twice the length of the flight, and roughly the same cost. Not a real alternative

Well, my EJ ticket for March was 136 francs - including luggage. Almost half the price.

By the way, does anyone know off the bat whether you can transfer an EJ ticket to another person and how much that is? Someone was meant to join us for that trip and they will not be doing so now, so she might want to sell her ticket. Yes, yes, I can google but I wondered if someone else had done it and whether it was a hassle.

ETA: Ok, googled it and - don't bother. Changing the name one way is 56 francs, applicable to both legs AND you have to pay the difference of the current price of the ticket rather than the original price, with no refunds if the current price happens to be lower. Wow.

My friend told me about flights ending on the website in March so she emailed them and they told her the route isn't cancelled, they are waiting to decide on how to roll their schedules.

Sounds like rubbish as they've revised, renewed, rolled, released other routes.
But Manchester Zurich doesn't (yet) appear on their website's list of cancelled routes.

I have to say that their Manchester Zurich flights are always busy when I go so it should be profitable.
