Question on DTC gutachten

Hi All,

I have a question regarding the DTC gutachten. So basically, if we want to make any modifications (i.e. parts changes) on our cars, the parts need to be DTC certified. Usually, if you buy and install the part from a dealer/shop they do the whole thing (i.e. the parts are already DTC certified), and you get the certificate issued which then is used at the STVA for the entry into your vehicle registration.

Question is: Say I find the part (i.e. exact same as one sold here) in the US/Europe online and get it shipped here (obviously a hell of a lot cheaper). Can I get the certification directly from DTC? Will they certify it? I assume this shouldn't really be a problem, as all parts come with identification numbers and I guess as long as these line should be ok... But then I don't really know...

Reason I am asking is. I was thinking of buying a lift kit for my jeep, and I found the identical kit in the US...

Re: Question on DTC gutachten

easy: find the CH distributor, tell them you ALREADY have this kit on your car and you need the certificate for it, they will normally order it and then you pay about 60chf for the certificate.

dont tell them you want the cert and want to order the kit from elsewhere

You will also prob need a garage to stamp the paper to say its been fitted properly. However the stamp can be very easy to obtain if required.
