| I'd say autoscout should be the last resort. A MUCH better alternative is to just drive around (or have a friend drive you) during a few weekends and look at as many cars as possible. | |

When I was looking for a second hand car I tried this approach once or twice and found it a huge timewaster. It might work well if you just want/need a car but don't really know what you want or if you simply enjoy driving around looking for a car.
I knew quite exactly what I wanted and I found searching on autoscout to be much more efficient.

| Firstly the prices should be lower than on autoscout. Second, but maybe more important, you can inspect the car closely, maybe talk to the dealer about it etc. | |

I never noticed a difference on prices and once you find a suitable car on autoscout you can still inspect it, talk to the dealer, etc.
