I just finished my Mobility registration and am eager to book a car for part of the weekend BUT I'm from NA and never learned how to drive a standard, I heard that atleast some of the Mobility cars are automatic, does anyone have information on which cars would be most likely to be automatic, and which standard? TA

When you book a car, it should be flagged as automatic in the online form.

Keep an eye on the distance you travel.... Mobility is great for short hops, but the costs really pile on if you're doing long trips. They have a preferential rate for car hire with a couple of the big companies, and it is soon more economical to use that if you're travelling long distance.

Thanks Steve, good to know if future, for now the plan is to drive to Ikea Dietlikon from Oerlikon and back, the KM's shouldn't be too bad. I just want to make sure if I book a minivan, or car with decent interior room I'll actually be able to drive it there and back without destroying the transmision

Yeah Mobility is perfect for that kind of stuff. Also make sure you thoroughly check the car over before you drive it, regardless of how much of a hurry you are in! And report any damage to Mobility by phone. My experience is that some of their phone staff don't speak good English, but if you are patient, they will often transfer you to an English speaker if you're having problems. It's a great scheme, but it has it's drawbacks.
