Hello!

Can someone please give me an idea of how much it would approx cost to take a taxi from Zurich airport to the city center?
My flight will arrive on a Friday around 4pm, if that would make a difference.

My guesstimate is CHF75, for a 20 minute ride, more if there are traffic issues. A train ride of 15 mins is considerably cheaper from Zürich Flughafen station to Zürich HB ( CHF3.20 with the HalbTax card or CHF6.40 without ).

Yes, I know the train would be cheaper but I will be carrying 3 heavy suitcases and that will be quite a challenge for a petite person like me

If you take the Interregio / intercity services or the #10 tram into the city they should have even-floor entries. Or even simpled (and still cheaper) would be the "fly rail" baggage service that SBB offers. You can check-in or pickup your flight luggage from Zurich or Geneva airport at most train stations in the country for 22.-

chf 66 will get her 3 suitcases to the nearest bahnhof... and then what??

Thanks yowie but as dino said.... it'll be difficult to carry 3 suitcases from any train station or tram to where I'll be staying... so I need door to door service.

About 18 months ago when I had family visiting it cost 80CHF from the airport to the city centre.

You don't happen to be a member of mobility do you? You could just hire a car for a couple of hours, and that shouldn't cost more than 30 CHF or so there and back.

Had to take a taxi last November it was approx 60 CHF, and that was without any luggage.

edit; also at 4pm on a Friday the roads can be very busy so the slower journey will rack up extra costs.

I once jumped into a taxi at the airport to take me to Wädenswil. 190chf. It was late in the evening after a 12hr flight. The next time I waited for the train.
