Quite why you'd expect to be let off I don't know, but it's not the way things work here. I suggest you just pay up the fine and put it down to experience.
Oh, and why post about it here - do you expect sympathy, advise or derision?

Another one headed out to Guantanamo. Still, it's warmer than Switzerland at this time of year.

I have been fined loads of times on the bus and train, but i am a chancer.
I have always paid without complaints and you should do the same, its a great public transport service they offer here so accept it and be careful not to lose tickets in future

If everyone "chances it", do you think the service will be any good? Time to pay for a service you choose to use. Please.

BuggedSee | | | | | I think the service would be even better, i have definitly spent more on fines than i would have spent on tickets.
And by the way, i only chanced it if i had forgotten to take money, not had enough on me or was running too late to buy a ticket. I have paid my dues.
I later decided on a GA so this wouldnt happen, what happened? I took the train from Lenzburg to zurich at 00:30 not realised it was a night train with "Nachtzuschlag" and got fined again | | This user would like to thank TonyBhoy for this useful post: | |

Why not just pay up, its over and done with and you can come back without worrying you are going to be hung, drawn and quartered at immigration upon arrival.

If you give them a forwarding address then it would mean that they can contact you there if the SBB take it further with a claim for the money allowing you to pay it. If you dont, it could mean that you get registered in debt in switzerland without even knowing it.

Why not call the bus company that issued the fine?

Do you know what bus you were on? why not call the information line of that company and ask them

Tupac, FYI, you don't need an exclamation mark at the end of each sentence. If you use one all the time, it devalues it. HTH.

Maybe you missed it so I'll post it here: | Quote: | | | | | Maybe you should contact the town hall that you were registered with to explain the circumstances and let them know why you didnt de-register yourself.
If you give them a forwarding address then it would mean that they can contact you there if the SBB take it further with a claim for the money allowing you to pay it. If you dont, it could mean that you get registered in debt in switzerland without even knowing it. | | | | | Also, please don't take this the wrong way, but sentences in English start with a capital letter, and there are other ways of ending a sentence apart from an exclamation mark.
Your posts would be much easier to read if you took time to structure them a little. I wouldn't be surprised if some people didn't bother to respond because it's slightly off-putting to read a post that is all one paragraph with poor punctuation.
