taxi rant, v.2

ok kids n kidders,
There I was, stuck in my car this rainy morning and zipping past me in the taxi lane, was.... a taxi .... nothing usual about that but this taxi was one of them fancy dancy BMW scooters with the roll cage thingy.

So, I'm thinking if you called for a taxi and this showed up would you get in/on?

( yes, yes, I know... a taxi scooter wouldn't JUST show up )

Re: taxi rant, v.2

We are all paying a little bit of your wages, and as it's now past 9 am you really should take your coat off and begin to sharpen your pencils.

Well, if I phoned that number I would be expecting a taxi scooter thingy. I would get on, especially if it was a long legged large breasted pretty girl. Now that would be a stunning offer wouldn't it?

Main station to airport is CHF 50,-- is that a fair price?
8.5 km
costs about ~50 CHF ( basic charge 10.- plus + 5 per km)

Re: taxi rant, v.2

When I lived in Paris, I used to use moto taxis all the time between CDG and the city center. Motorcycles are allowed to filter through traffic, and during rush hour it would save me nearly an hour in travel time.

In Switzerland, where the traffic isn't so bad and where you're not allowed to filter, I can't really see the point. I'm guessing it's not any cheaper than a regular cab...

maybe you're not legally allowed to filter but certainly here in GE it happens all the time, as well as motor-bikes and scooters using the cycle lanes.

err.... no.
mrs. and I get taxi's fairly often from the airport to near my office ( YOU know where ) and with charges for two or three bags ( 3Chf each ) we rarely pay more than Chf 25-30 .... a couple more km. to the train station wouldnt be so much more.

I suppose what you would be paying for is time, time not stuck in traffic.

I am sure if you peruse your IPC codes you will find that is listed as
vehicle
taxi
3wheels

while I was clearly referring to
vehicle
taxi
2 wheels.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

No, I wouldn't..

1) The helmet would ruin my 'do'
2) My suitcase wouldn't fit in the boot
3) Motorbikes scare the **** out of me.

Unlike in the UK or Sweden, no helmet is needed in Switerland to ride the BMW C1. Source.
Unfortonately, this is not C1. (Which has just one seat). This two seat taxi scooter needs a helmet. Bummer.
