Re: Failed My driving Test... What next

I never got my license back after I failed the conversion test in Zurich.
They kept this with themselves and also charged 100CHF as handling charges..
Now, if I plan to go abroad (outside switzerland) will they return my license??
Anyone had similar experience?

The Swiss cannot keep your foreign license. It is probably stamped "Not valid in CH" and has been sent back to the issuing office in your home country.

The driving license can be collected from the below address for a fee of chf 100

Re: Failed My driving Test... What next

Rocky is a member here from 2010 - so if they joined around the time they entered CH, then they have been driving around on a foreign licence for "too" long.

The STVA has taken the licence away because it is no longer valid - full stop.

That may not be the case - but I am sure Rocky will add more details

Hello everyone,

Let's work on that case: Failed the exam in Zürich 4 years ago, moved to Aargau, got married (lastname changed; thus got the new driving licence from home country).
Now, can you take the 'Kontrollfahrt' again in Aargau? Can they know that you failed in Zürich?

In ZH when you register they ask if you have ever had a driver license, or a learner's driver license, and then it's indicated that by signing you have truthfully filled out the form. I imagine they do something similar in other cantons, and lying might fire back in unexpected ways.
