After some trawling (that I'm generally rubbish at) looking for personal loan rates to buy a 2nd hand car. I've found Migros bank @5.9% to be the cheapest rate so far... unless some bargain hunting EFer knows of a better deal?

Next question, the car I have my eye on is hand left hooker in Blighty at a princely 35% less than the same model here... Before the haggling starts So, I know I'll be paying import duty on it here which is fine, but would I be able to claim any VAT paid (if any) in the UK back.

You might be able to if it is sold from a proper company.

As private cars are not VAV deductible in the UK that probably won't work, unless it's a commercial vehicle which is.

I was thinking that FMF, last time I imported it was a Mitsubishi L200 and that was a commercial vehicle.

Migros still the cheapest place for finance though?
