| | | Bye bye emission test
The emission test is no longer obligatory for cars with on-board diagnostics as of 2013. http://www.20min.ch/finance/news/sto...licht-25679753 | | The following 10 users would like to thank k_and_e for this useful post: | |

Well, just yesterday I made an appointment for the 17th of december for the test. As the garage told me "any time until end of december is fine", should i now cancel the test seeing as it won't be needed starting 2013? Is this official starting 1st of Jan?

Well every car I have had in the last 18 years just passed, the cars generally had 100,000-300,000km on the clock & had not been in a dealers workshop for years.

Reason I ask is my 1992 Mustang has an onboard Computer, OBD1 diagnostics & exhaust gas control.

Don't know if OBD1 will be sufficient to be exempted from the Swiss emissions test though.

There is a PDF on this site as well. It says in my case that it all depends on the car's weight and an "Emissioncode". I tried to look for a list of Cars/Emissioncode and ended up with nothing. Anyone was more lucky?

My car has OBD, in fact I check them myself. Maybe I could ask a cop when I see one on the side of the road. What's a good place to find such a cop?

Park your car next to Letzigrund and leave a FC Basel sign on it. Cops will find you...not so sure about the car though | Quote: | | | | | My car has OBD, in fact I check them myself. I got a 100chf fine for this about 8 months ago...I was 1 month out of date. My care is a 2008 Subaru WRX, hardly an emission risk.
