Surface, i.e. economy, post via Swiss Post I would guess, going on our own attempts to send parcels back from the US to Switzerland some years ago. Checked the US post office price, then went to UPS and TNT who both wanted to charge $100 more just to take the package down to the post office and send it in exactly the same way! We went with the post office of course.

Swiss Post also sell a range of post boxes in various sizes so you could check with them.

Does the POst have a maximum weight per box? Or a maximum weight per box size if using their boxes? I have a faint memory of this being a problem for me when I posted a box to the UK a few years ago.

You can find different-sized boxes at Coop Bau & Hobby or OBI. They're often called moving boxes, but if taped up well, you can also use them for shipping.

I agree that shipping via the Post is probably the cheapest. I think you can check the shipping costs via the Post on their website:

It says: "The maximum weight for PostPac International Priority packages is 30 kg and 20 kg for some countries. Your consignment must always be signed for by the addressee."
