Drive correctly and not too slow.

go to America for a 2 week holiday, pass the test there, which is easy and costs very little compared to Europe. Then come back to Switzerland and get it converted into a Swiss License....

Excellent advice ... the vBulletin software seems quite good at finding "related threads", and answers to questions can often be found there before anyone responds to the current thread.

follow all the driving rules, drive perfectly and don't crash.

1) Learn the rules
2) Learn to drive
3) But 1) and 2) together in practice.

most of the related threads are for conversion but I will be taking test for new liscence

Make sure when you check the mirrors that you really move your head - they love to see that.

Don't just drive where the examinator tells you to, he may try and trick you into driving somewhere forbidden and you must notice.

As soon as you see someone wanting to cross the street stop - even if it you could easily pass before the person is on "your side".

Watch out for bikers, leave enough room for them next to you (my personal pet hate - ebikers!)

If you find you have been judged unfairly - demand a detailed explanation.

That won't help anymore. You now need to have had your foreign drivers license for 12 months before moving to Switzerland.



As for the OP, I would suggest you take some driving classes and learn the rules of the road from the driving book, even the ones that seem not to important like in what order to put on the parking break, etc.

I have just realised the importance of your question. Do you already have a driving license from another country, and some experience? Now you are just going to take the Swiss driving test?

I really hope you have taken about 10 lessons from a Swiss instructor, it really is a good investment!

If you have a chance to convert your license do it - less hassle and cost incurred

that's for sure, they hand them out like candy at a parade.
