| Thanks for the reply (that's super-quick!)
Found the website for the line: http://www.dampfvereinrhb.ch/
Only thing is that it would take a fair bit of the day to get there...
Thanks, though! | |

Colonel, such a shame for you guys, there were some perfect trips on the 26th!!! and not too far away from Bern, see here
Nostalgiebahnen / Erlebnisbahnen / Dampfbahnen in der Schweiz
So many to choose from!!!
I know next year is too late, but if you guys are still about, take a gander at the one in Aaretal-Münsingen,, I live a couple of minutes away from there.
Not knowing how your German is, this site may be a bit nuisancey, some of the sites have English options, not all, happy to help out if you need some translation.
As well, I have a train freak buddy here, who knows all the timetables etc for the normal as well as
all the special (steam) trains that are running.
So if you ever want to know whats going on (in the train world) for any other time coming up, give me a yell, he just
looooves it when anyone wants to know something about trains....
They start up again 24th March (Easter Monday), we always used to do this with our kids when they were little (truth be told, they aren't above such things, even now

), we always liked Thomas the tank engine as well (well, me, more than the others!).
Very family friendly,,, you can also have a cuppa with our local "
special" people
Of course, the one in Münsingen is not a "proper" big one,,, but when the kids were little, we liked it anyway, it was close by, an inexpensive day out in the fresh air and, well , we were supporting the (almost) local community with it... A nice day out all in all.
