Night bus information for tonight?

My work compadre told me to come here. First a quick hello--> HELLO
This looks like pukka joint.

To cut a long story short I have keys to a flat in Seebach where I will be spending the night after partying in Zurich city. Currently I am snowed with work so I don't see how I can get this info without going out

How can I get from Zurich city to Seebach at night? There are night buses but I have no clue where to catch them or which number will take me to Seebach.
Please if someone already knows this can they let me know?
Any help much appreciated. Ok back to work In worse case scenario I can try to figure it out on the spot.

Re: Night bus information for tonight?

Why not party in his flat :-)

Last train is 1202, Trams run til about 0030. Never caught a nightbus cos its all too complicated for my addled mind compared with flagging a taxi.

Re: Night bus information for tonight?

You should be able to go and get one from Central, the tram junction across the river from the Haupt Bahnhoff. After the trams stop, buses go from there. I always go there to get a night bus to Oerlikon, which is the district immediately before Seebach.

It depends on how late you consider late ... the last tram goes just before 12.30 from outside the Bahnhoff

Re: Night bus information for tonight?

Yes, well I'm glad you said it before I could. The websites of ZVV and SBB are usually the best place to ask for timetable information.

You can also find all the information you need (in German unfortunately) about the night buses, including timetables and maps at the same site - here [zvv.ch]

Maybe you should suggest to your friend that he gives you more useful advice when you have such questions, but welcome in any case.

That helps as I know central. It's S2 and S6 that go to Seebach and they are almost every 15-20minutes which is excellent!
Oh and late for me is between 1 and 3am More late will come into next day territory

My friend is non Swiss so clueless as well. Might pop in here again.
Can't wait to gulp my Rum

thanks all

the S6 goes to Seebach Bahnof not the S2 but many trains go to Oerlikon and its only about a 15 min walk from Oerlikon to Seebach Bahnof. Also Tram 14 goes to Seebach only but again you could get a tram to Oerlikon and walk.

I live in Seebach but have never got a night bus so can't help

Nicky

Re: Night bus information for tonight?

As far as I recall the nightbusses only run Friday and Saturday (ie Saturday and Sunday early mornings)... You pay an additional CHF5 ontop of the normal fair. English explanation of the system and timetable available here http://www.vbz.ch/vbz_opencms/opencm.../ZVVnighttime/

Enjoy
