Re: Car Bodywork repair Zurich

I believe you need to be more specific.
What type of car, what type of body work, budget, etc...

Many people here know many garages. What exactly are you asking for?

Re: Car Bodywork repair Zurich

Its for a Range Rover Evoque. The rear wheel arch is scratched and the plastic which covers the wheel arch would need replacing.

We took it is Emil Frey and they wanted 2000chf to fix it, we would like to shop around as I am there will be smaller garages that can do it cheaper.

Photograph of the damage?

Parking damage?

The plastic may not need replacing - but have new clips used - I don't know the design without checking.

2,000chf could be about right - depending on the damage.

There is a place at the top of the hill between Ruschlikon and Adliswil - yet to try them. Quoted 300chf to repair a 15cm paint scratch that some bar steward applied to my car.

The spritzwerk (german word) in Aesch, ZH has some good reviews and repairs high end stuff (Ferraris etc)

This is all you had to say and I would have gone a way thinking a very nice gentleman from EF helped me.

Have you learned to ask a sensible question?

Based on your description I reckon #5 is what you are after. (Can't find 5-door one at the moment). Could be you just need the clip.

I KNOW BMW dealers in Switzerland normally are about the price posted in USD - but no idea about Land Rover ones. But pop off the plastic - respray - new part - maybe 500-600chf?

As I said - depends on the size of the damage and whether the panel needs correcting.

That's exactly the part that is scratched.

I do not have a picture of the scratches on the door but I think there is about 5 or 6 of them about 10-15cm in length with varying depths, some could be polished maybe away some will need more work to them.

It was scrapped along a pillar in a car park.

Re: Car Bodywork repair Zurich

My advice:
- google maps the one in Ruschlikon/Adliwill (Fischer I think is the name)
- don't replace the part unless you really have to. Sounds like it will be scraped again

I agree. Even if leased, fix it just before turning in/selling unless rust is an issue.

My wife keeps bringing the car home with "racing stripes" on the quarters.

Dear candle
your OP question was very vague (general) and therefore will surely it will attract groans in this forum.

People here are generally very knowledgeable and helpful, but only if specifics are given and deserved thanks given.

A scratch on the door is usually in the range quoted by your garage and you can lower this by going over to DE or IT but personally i think it is too much trouble for the cost savings. You should also only do this (if damage is purely cosmetic) if you want to sell your car. Every scratch you fix, there will others coming.
Just my 2 cents.

A good question would be:
I have a Land Rover Evoque that has picked up some scrapes on the (right/left) rear panel. There are about N of them around 15cm long (see picture below).

Has anyone had a good experience of a bodywork repair shop in and around 8xxx?

I have been quoted > 2000chf by AMAG.

YOU may know what you want/need and where you are etc and the damage - but no-one else does. If you/your husband is vaguely competent you could try polishing some out yourself - but that suggestion would only be worth considering if posters could see the damage.

aSwissintheUS does answer the question - but it doesn't enrich the forum content.
