Hi.

I am moving into my new flat at the end of this month. However I need to find a truck to load my stuff in. Any suggestions for companies where I can get best possible rates for hiring a truck? or should I just go with a transporter company?? I have already spent quite a lot of money to have my old apartment cleaned out and I dont wish to get screwed anymore by
cleaning/transportation companies etc.

how much stuff do you have? Certain companies rent vans to a certain size and no larger you see....

my current apartment is just about 70m2 with 3 rooms. I dont have that much of stuff to move around. I will sell most of the furniture anyway since I have ordered brand new for my new home. It will be pretty easy to move my stuff.

If you, or someone you know are members of www.mobility.ch this is a very cheap way to rent a truck for a few hours.

www.mobility.ch have some vans that are relatively cheap, then. Mercedes Vito is one of their vehicles.

Do you think the Vito will be enough to move furniture ??

I am not selling it all.
I am selling a few items but I still need to move quite a lot of stuff. I have alredy posted in Sale/Wanted section, some items that are for sale.

The person with the membership is the one who has to drive the car. So what you are really saying is: is there anyone on the forum who wants to help me move house...

2 large wardrobes (2.5m long each but both of them will be disassembled)
2 large glass office tables
2 medium/small glass tables
A set of TV, DVD etc. electronics
lots of kitchen stuff, lamps and all the small things.

I am trying to sell my sofa set, a garden table and seats.

I had a short look at mobility.ch
They ask for 70CHF for 4 months trial membership.
The truck costs aprox. 120 CHF for 9 hours and 100kms (one day).
total would be 190 CHF for one day.. hmmmm

by the way, do you know swiss sites where i can advertise my furniture for sale?

I moved last month from a 4 room to 4.5 room flat with all the stuff I accumulate in last 3 years. I hired a moving company with 100CHF/hour including the van. I asked them to move only the big furniture which is too big for my car. They came in with two short guys (in a big van) and within 4 hours all the stuff is at my new place (about 10 km away).
I fully recomend this company if you want to avoid back aches. There number is 0444510056.

I got this number from a friend and i never really ask the company name . I will try to find the name of the company next week. If somebody need there services then just dial this number as they speak German and English.
