Alternatively just put a brick through your front windshield on Feb 1st and Carglass will give you a shiny new 2015 one when they replace the glass.

Obviously make sure you have 'glass cover' included in your policy
I applaud your out-of-the-box thinking and brave show of initiative. Put in place a system, and there's always someone who will figure out how to game it.

Straight to the top of the class, Castro!

Re: Discounted 2015 vignettes?

Sometimes, I think- life is really too short honestly.

Having just paid nearly 3 times as much for just one trip to Calais... I just can be asked to stick a brick in my windscreen, or go to Denner, to save 5 CHF

Re: Discounted 2015 vignettes?

I saved 40 CHF on my vignette by leaving it in the shop.

This tip works especially well if you don't have a car.

Me too, but I have a car and kind in-laws who pay every year for Christmas.

This doesn't actually work unless you already have the new vignette on the car.

It does save you having to take the damn thing off though!

Not that I tried or anything.

Re: Discounted 2015 vignettes?

I find, as I seldom use the autobahn, that www.vignettevermieten.ch works out cheaper for less than 20 times a year.

You have to book in advance to find an available one in the locality, but apart from that it seems to work well.

Re: Discounted 2015 vignettes?

If you go to the Bakery next to the Bibliothek in Wadenswil you can buy a car shaped (but not sized) bar of chocolate for 65chf. Included is a Vignette.
I've a feeling it's a gift idea, not a special offer. I'm not sure how I would feel if a loved one brought that for me.

You would eat the chocolate and enjoy 2015 on superb Swiss motorways?

Re: Discounted 2015 vignettes?

HP is offering free vignette if you buy a printer (not all models).

I was at my local Migros last week to buy printer ink which will cost me ~50 for both black and colored. They had an HP printer for 130 that comes with the ink plus the vignette.

Very good deal for me as my old printer is now > 5 years old.

You'll be back there soon buying ink for your new printer ! These "cheap" printers are good but the level of ink in the cartridges is very low, thus ensuring you go back and buy more ink as it is here they make the money !

well, it was no trouble for me... i was already in the "area", got a new printer for the price of ~40... i know it doesn't apply to everyone but for me it was a good deal... no need to be nasty

Hey, you can't be too careful. Not everyone knows that a vignette can be a choking hazard.

*1 son actually gave me something like that from a Genevoise chocolate shop as a Christmas present last year.... thereby outing his father who'd just been done by the local plod for driving my Mini without a sticker on a recently re-classified stretch of by-pass!

The air was slightly frosty for a while once they'd been forced to explain what the 'joke' was.

Is it true that the 2014 vignette is valid until the end of January 2015?
It's always that way - each year's Vignette is valid until the end of January the following year.

Yes, you need to buy a 2015 Vignette soon, before Sunday 1st February.

They cost CHF 40,-- at gas stations, petrol stations, Post Offices, discounted at Denner, etc etc

https://www.google.com/search?site=i...te%3B500%3B500

The police are often waiting at the Autobahn exits in February...

Guess what you will see on your morning drive Monday, February 2, 2015.

At CHF 200 + CHF 40 per "client" it is Christmas all over.

And make sure you place the vignette in the three officially approved positions. And at the same time it is useful to get rid of the extra vignettes (which if they block your vision will be good for a bonus CHF 250+).
