The picture is of my 1979 FXS, I also have a 1982 FXB... What can I say, I just really like the generator type Shovels....
I had a Fat Boy in Australia, but sold it 4 years ago to come over to Switzerland, but couldn't do without one so last year bought a Road King Classic with a bit more storage space for the long distance runs around Europe. If your in for a ride sometime let me know.
Is anyone planning to go to the Love Ride 19 (2011) on Sunday 8th May? We have been to the past 2 events and had a great time ... but would love to hang out/ride out with other English speakers (I am English, my partner Dutch - we will be there on our Harley Fatboy).
If you are interested but have not experienced the Love Ride yet, you can get a taster from films we have posted on YouTube:
Fingers crossed for good weather .. and all in a good cause.
Looks like it could be wild, but I'm away that week.
There was a question in the FAQs which made me doubt I would be welcome there anyway with my "Jap" bike.
Quote:
Ich will, dass nur Harley’s dabei sind, all die «Japan-Bikes» stören mich.
Warum können die Parkplätze nicht in «Harley» und «Non-Harley» aufgeteilt werden?
I know that not all Harley drivers are like that, but if they had to make a FAQ about this...
It is definitely an 'all pile on' affair - a complete mix of bikes and great camaraderie between riders. I think the FAQ is trying to deliver that message .. but taken the wrong approach. Which is a shame. We have a Harley but do not know anyone else here with one .. some great day trips done with Swiss neighbour on BMW though.
Sorry you will miss Love Ride 19 .. but a great annual event, so hopefully we will see you there next year!
