Dietikon Limmatfeld Car Park problem

When here first move there were many free car parks near. For a several months we parked in it. Now they changed this numberlos white free areas to paid areas with car park machines.

There is no any blue park area near. Nearest is on main train station and we have no permission to park here. Because our adress is different.

What would you like suggest. Our building has a park place but it is very expensive.

It depends on your definition of very expensive.
Something like 150 per month is normal.

a) get rid of car
b) rent parking space
c) get blue zone permission, park in blue zone, walk there
d) park illegally (and pay)
e) ask the administration what to do; ideally, walk over for a face-to-face conversation; this is the Swiss Way and solves a great many problems
f) move to a different place where there is ample free parking (good luck)

Perhaps the "Parkierverordnung" (http://www.dietikon.ch/dl.php/de/0d2...verordnung.pdf) still applies, explained somewhat in http://www.dietikon.ch/dl.php/de/0d2...n_Dietikon.pdf This Parkierverordnung documents "Nächtliches Dauerparkieren auf öffentlichem Grund" in addition to "Zonen mit Anwohnerbevorzugung" (Blue Zone). Ask your administration.

And, really, that's it.

The Limmatfeld is the Next Big Thing in Dietikon. The situation will only get worse.

And before you groan: Sorry, but that's life in the fastest growing region in the agglomeration.

One of the worst things for me in Switzerland is ... finding *cheap* parking space.

Re: Dietikon Limmatfeld Car Park problem

I don't understand the people. I am asking a question but most answers only trash:

You should pay
Move
Limmatfeld is not ghetto
Etc.

Every month pay 170 chf is not an option for me. If I can not find any solution i have sell my car. Because i could not get a job for two years and i am thinking to move to my country.

Ach People...

Re: Dietikon Limmatfeld Car Park problem

If you've been here and not worked for two years then something is wrong. Yes, the job market isn't brilliant but you must have skills (or not) that aren't in great demand here.

Like any other country, if you just live there and don't work you're unlikely to get rich. In Switzerland, owning a car isn't usually a necessity therefore it would make sense to sell it. Not only would you then not need to pay parking (or fuel/insurance/maintenance) but you'll also get some cash for the car itself.

Pubic transport here is very good. You obviously live in a sought-after area so you should be well connected by public transport.

Well people move all the time when they cannot afford the rent, or the cost of an extra car, or child care, or bus fare, or etc.

Not really understanding why moving is such an insult.

We are giving you answers...you want the word FREE to be in there somewhere doesn't mean people didn't try to give you honest solutions.

The whole area has good public transport and when not more then suitable pathes are there for the old fashioned walking technique.

" I have kidney pain, ehat should I do"?

" go for operation and remove your kidney. You have got second one"

Thanks for the answers. I hope I would not see more advices. Maybe i asked wrong question

In Switzerland most people who rent an apartment also have to pay for parking one way or another. Switzerland doesn't do free very well. i think your only option is to pay for parking in the car park in the building where you live.

It's funny that a whole thread has to be started and people have to tell the OP this.

I think the OP was hoping that somebody would tell him where the secret free car park is. I know, but I'm not saying ...

Re: Dietikon Limmatfeld Car Park problem

I am not hoping find a secret free park in Dietikon. I am looking for a LOGIC SOLUTION. The people saying move, find a different house, pay for it, sell your car, etc.

If you have a proper answer please say it, if no please waste your time in other posts.

Pisstaking aside, PAY FOR IT is surely an option? You can rent a space in the area in your house or another to park in. Surely.
