Track 7 to Chiasso from Zurich in the morning

I noticed that on the weekends there are options to travel with Track 7 in the morning at around 4:30 AM to places like Luzern from Zurich. However, when I try to see what there is for Chiasso there are no options and it seems like trains only start to operate after 5:00 AM, what is up with that?

Re: Track 7 to Chiasso from Zurich in the morning

I think those very early trains around Zurich exist mostly to take people home to suburbs and close-by towns after a night out in town. They only run at the weekend (i.e. early Saturday and Sunday morning).

There probably isn't enough market for people travelling from Zurich to Chiasso at 4 in the morning to justify running trains.

Re: Track 7 to Chiasso from Zurich in the morning

Even if they started at 4:30, Track 7 is only valid until 5:00, so you'd have to pay for the rest of the journey (i.e. Zug-Chiasso) in any case.
