Is it worth some lessons for the Kontrollfahr?

I am supposed to take this driving test to validate my Argentinian driver's license here in CHF.... People who did it> would you advice taking some lessons or not worth? If so, any english or spanish speaking instructor to recommend?

BTW.... for this test, should I go with my own car? I do not have one yet.....

Txs a lot for your tips.

The expected standard of driving here is high. It would be good if you can take a few hours of driving with a Swiss instructor, and use his car for the test.

For instance, do you understand these road markings? https://www.google.com/search?site=i...56%3B608%3B347

How long have you been driving? If you are a confident driver then you don't need lessons, just read the theory book so you know the rules. The drive itself is only 20-25 minutes in your own or borrowed car.

Do we have any online book to follow these rules?

take some lessons to learn how to drive in a driving test, like exaggerated looking etc. best to invest some time and money to pass because cost of failure is high.

I don't know if the book is online, I bought mine in Orell Fussli. I guess books.ch will have it.

I suggest to take at lease 3 lessons, that's what I and my wife have done in order to go smoothly through process. It's also recommendable to drive a driving school car rather than your own during the control.

Take some lessons. You'll be expected to show (in an exaggerated way, with moving your head, not eyeballs) attention to pedestrians, cyclists and ecological driving (low revs, fast gear changes), looking into the mirrors and so on.
Also, my wife was requested to do the parking exercise up a steep hill - I guess even surprised drivers may be taken by surprise by this.

Re: Is it worth some lessons for the Kontrollfahr?

Yes, a couple of lessons with a local instructor is highly recommended. Just take one lesson, if you saw yourself making no mistakes and he doesn't pick any, then you might go the exam. If not, then take a couple more lessons.

good luck

if you can pass the test without further instruction then don't bother. if you can't, then take the lessons until you can pass them.
