Sorry, today's the family day. There's a group of EF (or ex-EF, not really sure) bikers doing a route along the Susten, Furka, Grimsel and Klausen tomorrow though, I might join that.

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

details? I could be in for both

How cold is it up there? I was thinking shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops are not enough at altitude

You got Facebook? I can send you a link. Otherwise, I have to get off my oversized backside and walk to the computer to copy it all down.

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

In any case, here you go: Facebook event page

You'll probably have to request permission to join - Chris filters people out to keep random people living in Antarctica from joining - but that's pretty quick.

Anyway, this is the currently planned route: Route on Google maps

They're starting in Pfäffikon at La Cucaracha at 9am, and always welcome new folks - tell 'em Lance sent you. A buddy and I are meeting them in Sattel 20 or 30 minutes later, so that I can sleep in a bit longer. ;-)

Route includes a couple of odd choices (e.g. Grimsel / Furka twice instead of continuing on around the Susten) that I'm not so sure about, but we'll see when we get there. They're wrapping up with the Klausen, I'm not as convinced that I'll go that one, because the back side of Klausen is a miserable ride (near side is great).

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

that's the bar on the roundabout at the south end of Pfäffikon SZ. I will endeavour to make it to there for 9.

Looks like I'll be leaving the flip-flops at home

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

We were the only ones who got the restaurant right - though it was still the wrong choice, given the crap, service. Jørn and Chris said the second restaurant on the pass, and we were having drinks while y'all drove right by. It worked out ok, we didn't have get stuck in a large group in the twisties.

Let's have a beer sometime and talk shop.

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

I remember that. Not that it mattered....hang on, I think we stopped there and it was packed and slow service.

335km in a day isn't bad

Re: Motorcycle rideouts

Just replaced the Ninja 300 with a Z1000SX so hopefully will be along for one of these meet ups in the not too distant future.

Have done a few passes in and around Fribourg and have done the main ones in central Switzerland but would love to find some more
