Best travel card for commuting in Vaud?

Hi folks!

My name is Gavin. I am an Irish guy, soon moving to canton Vaud for work.

I was wondering what travel card would be best for a commute from Lausanne city centre to Etoy/St-Prex?

My own research suggests buying a half-fare travel card, then a Mobilis Carte journalière each day; or purchasing an annual GA travel card, would be most cost effective.

My work week will be 09:00-18:00 Monday to Friday plus I will occasionally travel on weekends.

What are peoples thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Gavin

There exists a season ticket for just the one defined route.

Ideal for commuting, use it endlessly during the validity period.

I think you can combine it with the half fare card.

You have to buy it at a railway station with a personal serviced ticket counter.

Re: Best travel card for commuting in Vaud?

You'll need a 5-zone "abonnement" for Lausanne - St-Prex: SFr. 159.- (1590.-) / month (year).

Or a 6-zone abonnement for Lausanne - Etoy: Sfr. 183.- (1830.-) / month (year).

If you get the 6-zone abo (Lsn-Etoy), it will also be valid for Lsn-St-Prex, Lutry, Renens, Morges, Allaman, Prilly...
If you get the yearly abo, you'll get two months free (compared to monthly abo).

Bring a recent printed passport photo with you.
