Motorcycle Exhaust Questionnaire : Termignoni

Hello fellow Biker EF'ers,

I hope you're enjoying the weather? Certainly better than last year here.

So I just wanted to run a quick Poll - if you can spare the time...
Calling Bikers Riding with Non Road Legal Exhausts:-

Q: Have you ever been stopped by the Police for a Loud Pipe?
And if so, where you Fined (Amount?) or even worse had your Bike impounded?

I'm curious as I'm close to purchasing a bike with a Full Termignoni System.
I have seen Many Bikes on the Road and On the Net for Sale with these Pipes on in CH -
So surely they must be ridden on the road frequently?

Obvioulsy these are for Race Track Use Only... (the bike I'd like to buy has the Original Pipes as well) -

Q2: Is it worth me Keeping the Termi's and Refitting them (with BDKillers) after the
MFK or just Sell them on - as I'm too old for Noisy pipes - (deaf enough)
Or just keep them if I sell the bike on eventually?

Any feedback is welcomed...

Cheers Bikers
B

Re: Motorcycle Exhaust Questionnaire : Termignoni

Install the DB killers, no more problem.

(cop told me this when I got stopped and fined, once in 29 years in CH and 300k+ km of riding here)

Thanks Tom, I appreciate your time and the reply, It settles my mind a bit more for sure.

Dare I then ask will the MFK Centre normally allow the Termi's onto the Vehicles WhitePaper Document or not as it's a race can? I pressume not but worth asking...

Cheers and wowza 300k KM riding in 29 years - that's impressive indeed.
I haven't ridden other than test rides in the last 7.5 years. So I have some catching up to do :-)

Best Wishes.
Ben

Re: Motorcycle Exhaust Questionnaire : Termignoni

If you can prove that they meet the noise and emission regulations in force when the bike was put on the road they will put them in the gray card.

Re: Motorcycle Exhaust Questionnaire : Termignoni

I was pulled over a few weeks back with a Yoshimura R77 (link pipe and end can) not EU approved and i do not have a certificate for it. The police shon a torch down the can, saw the noise baffle was inserted and that was it. No other questions.

not sure where the view that a certificate for use is needed as i havent needed such document to date

As yes, I even had to put the OEM brake/clutch levers back on for MFK.
