Selling a motorbike

I have been trying to sell my motorbike for a few weeks now on Ricardo, motoscout, Anibis and on here. The bike is not high price but only interest I have had is from Sri-Lanka Scammers.

Is there another way to sell bikes here?
Can I sell in France/Germany?
Is it better to sell in UK?

I'd like to sell it soon but to date not getting any interest in Switzerland

Re: Selling a motorbike

Drop the price. Your price, as usual on EF, is too high for a private seller.

Re: Selling a motorbike

Christ its already CHF1100 less than I paid 3 months ago!
And is on par compared to those in the website link you sent.

Any other options for selling?

Do you know if motorbike shops would sell for a fee?

Re: Selling a motorbike

Always down to price, vfm and whether potential buyers have spare money hanging around during summer holiday time.

If you offered it for 5K, it would be gone in a flash .... so somewhere between 5K and 9,6K is a price that will fit.

You're another name on the grey card, so even after only 3 mths, you're going to have to take a hit, and get less than you want - probably about 20%.

Mistakes and changes in requirements can be costly.

Seems they are!

Any thoughts on how to sell to a wider audience?

i.e. France/Germany/UK?

Do not compare your private sale with what a garage asks. It is not the same thing.

If you sell to aboard the buyer will have to pay import tax of approx 19%.

If you advertise for 30-60% of other unsold bikes yours will sell.
I sold a bike within 24 hours to a Swiss in the US for about 35% of the average of other bikes for sale, my bike had a fresh MFK on the day I advertised it.

I understand your point although slightly disparaging as normally a Repsol edition would be slightly higher than a standard black, thus I would be on par.

I will see if the boss agrees to further reduction and assume Swiss look at an advertised price as the final price, whereas in UK it is a starting point for negotiation.
