Time to receive traffic violation in ch

How long does it take for the cantons to issue speeding and parking violations on a rental car? From when the infraction is recorded how much time should I wait to see if there is an admin fee charged to the credit card by the rental company. Trying to watch out if I received a traffic ticket during a trip to Switzerland and thinking that the admin fee is going. To give me an idea that something bad is on its way in the mail.

How much time does this hypothetical ticket take to travel internationally to the uk ??

Any insights will be appreciated.

Can't give specifics, but the rule of thumb is, just when a significant amount of time has elapsed and you think you've got away it .......

Thats not funny ()

I am waiting now. 50 zone too.

It was one of those car cameras hidden in the boot and I was coasting down a hill. Dirty rats.

Sometimes I wish I had a A-10 Intruder. Realy juicy yes thinking about all the things a silly american jet can do to speeding cameras.

Re: Time to receive traffic violation in ch

In Switzerland up to 6 weeks are common (by law they can prosecute you up to 3 years, so no hurry).
That's when the rental company receives it.
They will look who was renting back then.
Forward it to the authority.
Authority will sent it do you.
In total? Realistically, up to 3 months.

If it was a simple fine (like bellow 25 km/h over on the Autobahn, 20k/m country side, 15 km/h build up area.) the rental company may pay it themselves and then just charge you for it based on some clause in your rental contract.

The car rental company will charge you for their efforts of forwarding the whole thing to you. Not sure, but you may be able to avoid that by contacting the police of the Kanton you were speeding in, perhaps phone them and ask (email if you don't speak the local language).
