People parking in my parking place in Zug

It happens more often than not, arriving home and finding that someone has taken my parking place.
I usually leave notes, and raise wipers, fold mirrors, but apparently people just think it's OK to park on a parking place with a huge PRIVAT sign.

What can I do? I know that calling the police is not an option, but are there private towing company I could rely on?

Thanks

Re: People parking in my parking place in Zug

Put a chain across the parking space, put a lockable post in the ground? Put nails under the tyres? How far do you want to go? Read the Forum?

can't really put a chain, it's between two other parking spots. A post in the ground would be useful, do you know where could I buy one?

Re: People parking in my parking place in Zug

Take a picture and send the person a 470 CHF parking bill.
The person will at least be very annoyed.
Best case: you get some extra cash.

According to some posts on this forum, the method is pretty successful.

Make friends with the old (later edit) 'dears' (they will both deal with wrong parkers) who live above the parking places. This is what we did in the UK, as the same thing kept happening. He will bite the head off anyone who gets anywhere near our parking space- and we bring him Swiss chocolate and champagne everytime we go visit

Re: People parking in my parking place in Zug

You could put up one of those "towed away if you park here" signs. Buy the lockable post at a big building supplier or large DIY supply shops.

It might bring you some pleasure to remove their license plates, and put them into any Swiss Post box. Swiss Post will then send them back to the canton traffic office. It doesn't stop them parking again, and they have to go to the traffic office and get the plates back again, but maybe word will get around?

It's possible, or even likely, the bad parking person is visiting your neighbour, so you could ask them for help.

Remove the number plates and then drop them off at the AG STVA.

Remove the plates and drive through some radar traps _really_ fast.

If you are able, park behind them and leave a note with you address. That way they have to come and see you to get their car out.

Is this actually 100% true?

I think if someone parked in my space I would generally be satisfied with him having to call me and apologise, whilst I turned the air blue, and forego any fine.

Would it be legal to block him in whilst you call a tow company though?

Re: People parking in my parking place in Zug

Surely if the OP is paying for a parking place, then it is up to the landlord/letting company to help with this problem. I would write to them company to complain formally. I would include the threat to reduce rent payment for every time you are inconvenienced.

If private property, then why can't you call the police? It is trespassing.
