Renting small sporty car

Hi everyone.

I"m looking to rent a small compact sporty car to drive for a weekend. Something like a Mazda MX5, Golf GTI, Focus ST, even older Lotus Elise, etc.

Every search seems to just pop up with exotics which is way out of my price range .

Drove a lot back home in some nice cars and haven't touched a car since arriving, really miss it to be honest.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks

Years ago, and I mean years - before I had children years ago - you could rent MX-5s from the Mazda garage in Birsfelden. The garage isn't there anymore, however, you could try the nearest dealer to you...

Not small to its size, but you can currently rent a Maserati Gran Cabrio for 309 CHf for a day (according to website, I assume it's the minimum price as per a week rental or whatever) - maybe worth to check out?

Hertz also seems to have a few "fun" cars, including a Mini Cabrio S. I once rented an Audi TT cabrio from Europecar and it cost 250 euros for a day, but it seems like that car is no longer part of their fleet.

Good luck!

This would be perfect. Unfortunately it's such a small market for these things I'm not surprised most of them are shut down.

I just checked it out for next Sunday and got the 309 for the day... so seems legit. Not a bad deal, but only valid for this month.

Not a Lotus, just a copy:

Min age 21 and min license possession time 3 years for the smaller of the two.

Re: Renting small sporty car

Last I knew Europcar had a sporty range you could rent at fairly reasonable prices.

Edited to add, there was a Golf cabriolet for 193chf for a day.
