Garage recommendation for changing to winter wheels

Can anyone recommend a garage for changing my summer wheels to a winter set of wheels in the Zurich area?

I am planning to get a set of wheels delivered directly to the garage from Germany and hopefully they will then store the summer wheels, but otherwise would preferably be able to deliver the summer wheels to my home

The cheapest and really the cheapest garage's name in Switzerland is ...

DIY

(also for those who have problem with search engine included)

So unthoughtful answer, there is a chance that the poster is a person with disability.

I wouldn't be too sure about that. Most of the folk with disabilities I've known have similar interests to the rest of us. Ever watched the Paralympics? Many sports have an adapted version and anyway, having an interest doesn't necessarily mean physically taking part in something. See some of the -er slightly overweight ladies who like watching gymnastics.

However, I don't expect the OP has a disability and I doubt that she would be offended at the suggestion of DIY even if she had.

It is a very busy time for garages during wheel changing season. The key thing for everyone is to get it done in a timely manner. This will obviously depend how well the garage know you or the fees they charge.

There will be a separate charge for storage, maybe higher as you are not getting the new wheels from them or maybe not.

There will be a separate charge if they agree to deliver the wheels to your home.

I liked Euromaster because it's possible to make an appointment on their website for the replacement - useful if you don't speak the local language well enough...

Re: Garage recommendation for changing to winter wheels

Thanks for the responses guys

I had tried to use the search functionality however I was bombarded with post upon post of people selling their winter wheels. None actually related to the garages themselves...

Therefore a new thread was created. Apologies

Do you really mean wheels, or just the tyres?

Re: Garage recommendation for changing to winter wheels

If you are in the Horgen area then just pop up to Garage Jenni in Hirzel. They are nice, honest and reliable and are pretty much the cheapest you'll find- I think I pay about 70-80chf. Plus no long waiting times for an appt.

It's the Subaru garage if you've ever passed it, but they will do any car (mine isnt Subaru).

ps. Last time I checked the tire websites such as reifendirekt, buying in Switzerland seemed to be cheaper than Germany (this was a few months ago)

For the cost of tyres it's about the same between ch and de. . It's the tyres fitting in ch where it's going to get expensive

I think they are cheaper in CH as less VAT, about 20 each to fit IIRC.

I ordered my tires on reifendirekt and had them delivered here http://www.azig.ch/ no idea if they are cheap/expensive but it's convenient, they speak English and they store the tyres.

Most places around basel it's 35 then few extra for alloys then few more for the old tyre. There 1 place that's 20 and a 1 man band affair.

Re: Garage recommendation for changing to winter wheels

I must admit that I used to be a dupe who paid for storage and summer/winter wheels fit for couple of seasons which incurred exorbitant costs in the long run

Then one day decided cautious me that enough is enough, got me proper Werkzeuge for CHF100 and many more happy years to go in service!

I think you live in Basel, in Prattlen 1 garage is 15 per tire.

Why more for alloys?

I pay the same regardless of wheel type, and two of my bikes have magnesium wheels, and two others have CF wheels (the others have aluminum or steel).
