2 day Advanced Course for Swiss Driving License in probation

Hi ,

I got my driving license in Dec 2014 and was supposed to do the 2 day course to get a permanent license .
Course 1 should have been completed within 6 months but I missed to do that .
Does anyone know what is the consequence of missing this dead line.

Also can anyone suggest me a school where this course is in English.

Thanks .

Call a driving school! 9/10 they will have an English speaker there.
If not use the search function on this site. There are LISTS of English instructors all over CH.

Best of luck

AFAIK, the 2 WAB courses can be taken within the 3-year probationary period. I don't think there is a 6 month deadline for WAB-1. So, I think you have not missed any deadline yet.

As far as I know, course 1 should be completed within 6 months ONLY if you want to receive an incentive from the Canton for doing so (for example...in Fribourg, they give you 50 CHF off the first course if you do it within 6 months).

Important is, before the expiry of your driving license, you should have completed both courses.

You might get somebody to speak English when you call these driving schools but the course I'm afraid will still be in German. I did a search once for WAB courses (offered in English) and for us in Zürcher Oberland, closest one was in Tuggen.

Re: 2 day Advanced Course for Swiss Driving License in probation

When my wife was going for the first day of 2-phase course many people were doing the first day long after the 6 months date.

In fact most of the people were trying to do this at the end of the 3 year probational period. This is in canton Vaud.

The TCS web-site says that "normally the first day is done with-in the first 6 month" but it does not look like it is being enforced. That being said, it is always better to follow the rule by the book and do it as written.

If you are late on a few months I think it should be fine.

You need to do both anyway. Why not do them right away and be done with?
