Picking a kickboard - tips and brands?

Dear fellow members,

As my older boy started to move faster than wind with his micro trotinette / kickboard, I am considering to buy myself a similar transport for the free time we spend outrunning each other.

As I've never been on the market for one of them, have little clue on brands or what matters outside the ubiquitous Micro, like these: http://www.microkickboard.com/teen-a...-wheel-scooter

Are there other brands I should take a look at?
Tips on what to pay for and what to disregard as pure marketing gimmicks?
If you own one - what do you like or dislike about your model?

Thank you!
