Audi Q5 - Extended Warranty

Hi
I bought an Audi Q5 (pre-owned).
On checking, I realised that the Audi Warranty had run the course and I could not extend it any further (apparently this can only be done when you purchase the car).
ASAG tell me that they can offer a warranty at their end but it is different from the AUDI Warranty.
I was wondering if anyone else has faced the same situation and what would they recommend:
Can I ask Audi to extend the warranty?
Is the ASAG Warranty a good choice or should I consider other options (and which could they be?).

Many thanks for your help.
Cheers

You can ask Audi to get extension on the warranty but before the current one has expired.

Why do you want one, they are built like tanks

Re: Audi Q5 - Extended Warranty

As idefix ,said on the previous post . the warranty can be extended only before the original warranty is over .
If ASAG can offer you a warranty this is a good solution as well because they need to make a full check so they can be sure .Thats mean they ant trick them self .
What kind go engine has the Q5 .If it diesel I don't think you have to be worried .
Audi diesel engines are quite good .when is cold right now in the winter please try not to give a lots of power until the car has reach normal oil temp .

Some of the petrol engines have some problems with the sparking plugs ,but this depends of the year which the car was build .

Good luck ,and don't worry to much .You have to enjoy the ride with your new car.

Best
Peter

Re: Audi Q5 - Extended Warranty

The Q5 has some reliability issues, mostly on the Gearbox and on oil consumption but it depends on the year of the model. If it's post 2010 you're fine. Given the cost of warranty extension I would just do the usual maintenance but not go for it, the risk reward is not worth it in my view.

Re: Audi Q5 - Extended Warranty

Thank you for your comments.
It is a 2012 June Model. S Line. Diesel.
The Audi Warranty ran out earlier this year. Before I purchased it.
Now my options is whether I take an ASAG one or run it without.
The car has been serviced quite well with ASAG and they seem quite happy with it.
