Got a tow ball bike rack, but where do I get an extra license plate?

I haven't quite figured this out yet but could I simply detach the rear license plate off the car and put it on the bike rack?

I suppose the safest bet would be to get an additional plate but I have not be able to find a shop that could make one. Anyone had to do something similar i.e. getting your own plates stamped? Where did you get it done at?

With bike / goods on, the rear plate would be obscured.

And out of curiosity, could one legally use the bike rack to haul other things e.g. camping gear?

Thanks.

Just mount it with Spring mounted clips available from Migros etc & just swop it over in 10 seconds as needed.

Extra plates are illegal.

I saw someone with this type of bike racl and it had some sort of banner attached to it. The banner had some sort of warning/attention sign on it as well as the plate number.

Maybe ask your cantonal StVA?

Re: Got a tow ball bike rack, but where do I get an extra license plate?

Thanks y'all. It being illegal to have an extra license plate, I didn't know. I suspect most people don't either. The people at the shops merely said that I can look elsewhere to get my extra plate made.

Now would there be anyone who could possibly be against me hauling my 35kg packed-up-tent on the rack? I don't think we'll be cycling this time around but we could use the extra space in the boot, like for putting the kids.
