Any low cost garage in Vaud?

My car has a precious part that has weared off and might need a replacement. A air compressor. Its compressed air pipe is covered with oil.
Cost on autoteilen meile: 1200. Non OEM part: Euro 450.
A Ford garage in Cossonay: chf 2500 parts (they say other parts may need to be replaced - tubes etc). Work: chf 800.
A French non-dealer garage: Euro 1200 part, Euro 300 labour.
(Poland: part regeneration: chf 220, labour: chf 80.).

The Cossonay Ford guy told me to sell my car and get a new one (a basic trim 2007 Ford Galaxy, 200k km).

However, I'd like to keep it and to repair it, preferably in CH, but not for 3.5k. So I'm looking for a reliable but not overpriced garage in Vaud or neighboring cantons.

I don't like Ford garage in Cossonay-Ville. I once had a discussion with them regarding the timing belt replacement for a collegue of mine and they were not very cooperative in terms of pricing. In general I find them expensive.

I've been doing repairs on my own mostly, so I can't really recommend a car garage with low prices. But I have a good expirience with the garage Garage+Carrosserie AUTOSTAR (ex MAGIC) in Bussigny:

They have a good reputation at reifendirekt for mounting tires and balancing wheels and lowest price so I used them once and I was happy to see that they use torque wrenches, and their operating procedure was correct (all by the book - use hands to put the bolts, then use power tool to tighten it in, then use torque wrench)

They are not very representable garage (it is located in non-convenient place, they have no reception, etc), but I was quite happy with the price and the fact they were doing things right. Perhaps you will have a better quote from them.

Re: Any low cost garage in Vaud?

I've had very good experience with a garage in Aubonne .

Both car purchase, repair of an old banger and general servicing. The owner is totally approachable and as far as i'm concerned very straight forward with his opinion on repair vs scrapping etc. He looked at an old zafira i had and listed my options and price for each one with his opinion on cost vs life of the car etc..

I scrapped it in the end - sold it to an exporter.
