Importing car from germany

Hallo!
My husband came with his car here in swiss 5years ago.Normally someone is allowed to drive a car from another country (germany in my case)for one year then import it to switzerland. But my husband didn't do that and also didn't drive it till now.It has been at the parking lot till now.He is planning to import it any time soon but the problem is that he is scared to ask about it at the 'Zoll 'because it is not registered here.I know he will be charged for that.Does someone have any experience or know any other means of doing it or even bring it back to germay?Thank you.

Zoll and registration are two different things. How much does the car weigh?

The car weighs about 3500kgs
So about 525CHF import tax, by weight. Replacing the tires it has sat on for 5 years will cost more.
