Looking for recommendations of someone who can restore my car/paintwork to it's former glory ready for the summer sunshine.

Do mobile valets/detailers exist over here and has anyone any positive/negative experience of one in the area?

I'm looking for the same thing, before putting my car on the market. The inside is like a pigsty and needs sorting out, preferably not by me. I found these people near Monthey in 'Les Pages Jaunes' http://brunoservices.pagesjaunes.ch/home.aspx - virtually the only entry in Romandie. It looks like they deal with 'Pimp my ride' type vehicles rather than 10-year old Golfs.

I understand that you sell some products, but do you also offer a valeting a service ? If yes, can you give us a rough idea of the costs for an average car, interior (leather) + exterior ?

I am always wary of companies that advertise high-precision products that cannot be made industrially but rather only manually.

Despite even my limited French I can understand enough of the site to see that I could drive my car back to UK (even with current fuel prices), have the detailing done, a night in a hotel and slap up meal and drive back again with money to spare.

In summary CHF900-1200 is slightly more that I was expecting - a top notch job in the UK comes in at around GBP250

Any other suggestions anyone ?

Who on earth pays these prices? Even an interieur-only job is 300-450 CHF.
I think I should consider a profesisonal reorientation!

Well I guess most of us aren't the target customer base, this kind of high end service might make sense for a luxury car (which there is plenty around) but IMHO not for your everyday car.

I know of a cheaper option, but haven't tested it yet : in the parking of the Leman Centre Coop (Renens) there's a company that will do valeting. You drop your car there, do your shopping, and get it back. I talked with one of the guys working there, and while I don't remember exact prices they seemed much more in line with what I would expect to pay for such services.

I go there regularly so I'll check it out and report back.
