Re: Travel agents

Why do you need a Travel Agent??

Just look on the sites of airlines that fly that route and book direct.

Re: Travel agents

Going through an agent will not necessarily be cheaper. They will *include* booking fees in the price quoted and be restricted in the seats they have to offer. I have found them to be always more expensive.

Callling the airline directly means paying a booking fee per person and child AND a hefty bill for the phone call to a special billed number. Singapore Air charges 50 raps a minute!

Booking online - this is an endless frustration for me at the minute. Booking stopovers bumps up the price of the ticket to a crazy amount and you can't seem to make the same booking online as the one you got from the airline over the phone.

Re: Travel agents

First hand experience .. travel agents do not always have the best deal.
You'd do best to try the online offerings. I recently covered ZRH-MUM for a neat 750 CHF, thanks to ebookers and KLM.

Re: Travel agents

I agree. Booking online is the best, fastest and cheapest way to save your time and hussle with agents. All you need is the credit card and they issue you an e-ticket which you convert to your boarding pass at check-in...

It is also nice to register for your frequent flier membership card e.g. Miles and More or Flying Blue and you score the points for flying which can give you discount later on

Re: Travel agents

Try googling Skyscanner, they are nomally pretty good and deal with the low cost carriers as well as the big boys.

Re: Travel agents

I would really appreciate it if someone could provide me the details to a reliable travel agent, i have to go thorugh an agent as i have no credit cards that would let me perform transactions online, the customer service employee at UBS where i have a two month old account tells me that i wont be issued a UBS credit card while on an L-Permit. i have applied for a GE moneybank Visa card but that could take weeks to process( if i am eligible)

Which means i can only pay by cash so if anyone can help me out i would really appreciate it.

I won't use ebookers ever again. Even if you choose their cancellation insurance, (presumably) anything short of a death certificate won't allow you to get a refund in case you can't travel. If you do use ebookers, be absolutely positive, without the merest shadow of a doubt that you will be traveling on the day you are booking, no ifs, no buts, because you cannot change squat afterwards. Here speaks a man who has blown more than a few piles of cash in the past few months. I'm not blaming anyone here, just words of advice after business meetings get moved around etc. We live in a fluid world, ebookers don't, their policy is set in fast-drying concrete with extra steel reinforcement.

Hi,
I booked tickets through T&T Tours (terlyg@gmail.com) couple of times. I would recommend this guy for good service and reasonable rates.
