SBB ticket validity

hi all!

I plan to get a SBB return ticket for my trip to Lucerne next week. I understand that the ride will pass Zug & the ticket is valid for one day.

Just curious if the ticket would be valid for a ride from Thalwil to Zug, then back to Thalwil & later in the evening from Thalwil to Lucerne and back.

Can I use the ticket this way as it is valid for the day of purchase?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

Re: SBB ticket validity

It's a trip ticket, not a day pass...

Re: SBB ticket validity

The ticket will be stamped by the inspector on the way out and again on the way back - you can only travel once in each direction.

Re: SBB ticket validity

When you buy the ticket, preferably at a ticket window, explain your trip to the cashier. They'll write up the ticket properly and it will likely not cost more than a round-trip from Luzern to Thalwil.

Re: SBB ticket validity

If you have a Halb-Tax(Demi-Tarif in French), you can buy a ticket
for the day which allows you to travel as much as you want wherever
for 58 CHF.

Good Luck!
