The Federal Office of Statistics has releases some numbers from a phone survey. According to the results, last year every second driver phoned at least once while driving. A fifth has read, and a tenth written SMS behind the wheel. A third of the drivers and half of the passengers in the back don't always wear the seat belts. (German article)
