mmmm... Doesn't look good... can't get any information from Easyjet over the phone (surprise surprise) but the JLA website seems to imply the flights will stop at the end of Oct http://www.liverpoolairport.com/page.php?p=81
I'm really surprised, I've flown this route a lot (I grew up near Liverpool and still have family there, so this will have an impact) and the flights are usually more than 70% full.

Bad news I'm afraid... We inquired about this directly with easyjet a couple of weeks ago and they said the flight has been cancelled with no plans to reinstate it at the moment.
Interestingly easyjet has just launched a route between Gatwick and Basel... so it looks like us northerners miss out again in favour of the southeast.

I contacted EasyJet a couple of weeks ago and they told me it was off for the winter season but may be reinstated in the spring.. fingers crossed... but then again you get told different every time you ring.
I know it doesnt help too much but I'd prefer travelling on this side rather than in the UK, you can always fly geneva to Manchester/Liverpool.
Also, flying Swiss from Basel to Manchester is a lot cheaper than flying Zurich to Manchester..
Fingers crossed tho that this does get re-instated.. it's my main route back to the UK

I guess you can just get off the plane in Zürich. What about bags? Can you choose to send then to Zürich even if you have a connecting flight?

I tried to book a December flight last week and got nowhere. I have emailed easjet to ask them if they have withdrawn the route during winter as their timetable still states that they have flights but am yet to receive a reply.
I can't really understand them withdrawing this route as everytime I've travelled the plane has been at least 80% full.

Might work the other way round though - you could get off in Zurich if you only have hand luggage.

I've just checked LPL airport website and the last flight they have on their timetable is 25/10/08, so it looks like they have stopped it! |

But, I have no idea about where you check in, give luggae, etc. My wife and I routinely go to Poland and booking from Basel to Warsaw via ZRH is cheaper than ZRH to Warsaw but never done it as getting from Warsaw to where we want to go in Poland is a pain in the butt.

I feel sorry for you northerners - us dahn sarf 'ave plenty of options. The new run into Gatwick will do me good as it's only a short hop over to Tunbridge Wells from there!

The Basel and Liverpool web sites only show the summer timetable.
Easyjet shows the winter timetable on my link above.
However, I can't book a flight in November... but I can for, say, ZRH to Luton...
Bugg3r. I'm one unhappy plastic scouser...

Nicky
FYI ZDH on the itinerary is Basel Bahnhof but someone mentioned above re no fights between basel and zurich - there are some options which do have flights and some which are trains
