Round Trip Train Tickets

Hi There,

I bought a round trip train ticket to Basel from Zurich HB. On may way back to Zurich, no one ever checked the ticket. Can you tell me:

1) Can I still use the second half of the round trip ticket?
2) How long is it good for?

Thx.

The date it's valid to will be on the ticket.

Re: Round Trip Train Tickets

There is a distance restriction of around 70km. If the trip is below this length then the return portion is only valid on the date of purchase, if it is beyond this length then the return portion is valid for one month. But, as Keith said, this should be printed on the ticket somewhere.

The reason for the one day validity is to avoid people doing what you are trying to do - missing the ticket agent the first time and using the ticket again on another day. This is more likely to happen on shorter trips, which is why there is a distance cut-off.
