In the You Tube of the Day thread I noticed that Nathu mentioned the lack of cyclists in a video. Knowing his interest in cycling etc. I thought this site to be worth a mention:
Coincidentally today, I saw reference to this website in the 'Inside Switzerland' Newsletter March '09.

| While good public transport is a given in much of Europe, there’s been considerably less thought devoted to the self-powered — those who prefer to walk, ride a bicycle, or canoe. Once again, Switzerland is the exception: it seems the Swiss have thought of canoers, just as they have hikers and inline skaters. Recently the Swiss Mobility Foundation, a union of nonmotorised transport enthusiasts, began compiling a nationwide network of interlinked and well-marked routes for those who prefer muscle- to motor power. Sure, the feat is perhaps easier in a country of 41,285 square kilometres, but it does help put Switzerland at the top of Yale University’s Environmental Performance Index. | |

Switzerland Mobility
I have seen this site before, and I am sure that it must have been mentioned before on EF somewhere. It is an incredibly comprehensive site with interactive maps and loads of other information such as accommodation in the area. It has sections for Cycling, Walking, Hiking, Mountainbiking, Skating and Canoeing.
