car on foreign plates owned through a foreign company

Dear All,

we have a car at home(hungary) and as my family is now moving here we want to have this car here, without getting swiss plates on it as long as possible. but the owner of the car is our company at home. is this causing any problems? can we still use it for 12 months with hungarian plates? will this cause any problems if i want to import it later? when we enter Switzeland with the car shall I ask for some docs regarding the date?

if anybody has experiences with similar situation please help.

Thanks

Yes, you won't be able to import it free of duty as you won't be able to prove ownership in excess of six months.

Here's a pdf file which has some information about importing vehicles and telephone numbers if you have specific questions:

clear. and if I do not import it what happens? I mean if I use the car after one year with foreign plates on it, and I stopped by cops or at the border, I could say I use it only temporary and its not my car.

Think practical. What if you need a parking sticker in your area? What if you have an accident and have to report to your insurance "Owner Eljen AG domiciled Budapest utca, Komarom, Driver Finesse domiciled Musterstrasse Zurich" - and they'll report back "sorry we don't cover foreign domiciled drivers"?

Yes, I'm sure they have never heard that one before
