Buying/Renting Motorcycle in Bern

Hello!

I'm a student from Singapore going for an exchange in Bern, for half a year, this coming August.

Would it be better to rent, or to buy-then-sell a motorbike for 6 months? I intend to ride to neighboring countries for short trips as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable place to buy/rent a motorcycle? Roughly how much does a used one cost? I'm look at bikes of around 200cc.

Many thanks for any advice provided!

Looking-forward-to-his-Bern-trip,
Jack

Re: Buying/Renting Motorcycle in Bern

thanks! Seems like buying one isn't the perfect choice. Perhaps rental would be better. Any cheap ones out there in Bern?

Re: Buying/Renting Motorcycle in Bern

Here is a link to all motorcycle dealers in Switzerland:

http://www.motorradhandel.ch/

For renting here is a more specific link on that site:

http://www.motorradhandel.ch/vermietung-suchen.cfm

Don't let the German scare you, it's all very straight forward. Under "Marke" (brand) select one, then the following drop down list choose which model you're interested in then just choose which region you wish to rent in (Bern = BE) and click on "Suchen". Good luck..
