Tax to get car into CH on car owned for less than 6-months

Hi,

If I've read these posts correctly, I can take my car to CH on my UK tax and Insurance for 12 months before having to offically import it.

However as I've only owned my car for 1 month so far - 2 by the time I move out there, will I still have to pay tax to get it into CH? Or would this just be if I was importing it there straight away?

The day the vehicle arrives in the country is the day it's imported.

You simply have 12 months to change the plates from UK to swiss plates (and to get the car certified by the motor vehicle inspection authority)

You will have to pay tax of some sort - I forget how much - search in the forum for "importing car" - there's a zillion posts about it.
