Re: Swiss Drivers attitudes to motorbikes WTF!

Lets face it motor bikes should pay twice as much road tax as cars.
They use both sides of the road to weave around everyone.
I just remember the DJ "Ceaser the Geezer" stating that and winding up the Hells Angels in the UK and they rang him up on the radio and told him they were going to "sort him out".

As far as I know you are free to filter in stationary / slow traffic - defn in the UK, and France (if nor someone wants to have a word with the whole of Paris). And Italy ignores most things but I think it is illegal not to filter there ! I'm talking traffic lights, motorway jams etc. Not traffic doing 70 mpg down the M25 on Friday evening. Try that and you will get pulled or killed.

My understanding from the UK plod is that traffic at 0 - 20 miles an hour it's legal. Over that and you are pushing your luck ....
Wasn't legal for me but that was years ago I 'spose.

Quick search shows the highway code was revised in 2007 and filtering is "legitimate" when beating congestion.

So I stand corrected .

Re: Swiss Drivers attitudes to motorbikes WTF!

there was also a very big demonstration in paris recently when a politician (obviously annoyed that bikes pass him when he is stuck in traffic) suggested a change in law that bikes must stay in lane and if they dont like it then they should take the metro.

This is exactly what they did, thousands of bikes stayed in lane on the ring road taking the space of 1 car each which brought the ring road to a halt, they then desended onto the metro all at nce also bringing the system to a near halt.
