Car Tax

Hi All,

Just a quick question - We want to buy an *very* old Golf (1987) and its a 1.8litre

Does anyone know what the cost of the annual road tax is, or where to find a tariff list?

Thanks

Re: Car Tax

Look here, you'll see the tarif per cc capacity. It might be different for something that age though, give the STVA (Strassenvekehrsamt = DVLA in the UK) a call, they're usually pretty helpful:

Re: Car Tax

Zurich and Basel charge by engine size http://www.mfk.bs.ch/steuern/index.html

Some cantons charge by unladen weight, Bern does,

but Fribourg doesn't http://www.ocn.ch/ocn/de/pub/dienstl...sonenwagen.htm.

Nah .... Fribourg vehicle taxes are calculated by the number of priests and nuns that can be squashed inside.

They are a little generous, not all are qualified...

Can someone provide detailed information
Detailed information on what?
How many priests and nuns can be squeezed in a car in Fribourg?
Or how much to tax a car in your area?
Here is a clue. Strassenvekehrsamt.
