I want to ship my scooter from London to Zug. Does anyone know the best way? There are two ways I know of - hire a professional company or put it on the trailer of a private person going anyway. If anyone could shed some light on which is the cheapest, and where to find people for the private option I'd be most grateful. Obviously it all needs to be above board.

The scooter is a Mojito 125.

Unless you love your scooter or it has special rarities, why not just sell it and buy one here - it is probably much cheaper for a second hand one anyway.
Got a similar conundrum - was going to drive my baby (as in small) 125 Honda to the north of England. I reckon I could just as easily buy another one there for about the same price as the hassle. (on a good day with Easyjet).
Rental car for a week and a bit vs a half ok bike - probably about the same.
My tank of my honda only holds enough for 120 KM - not really worth the hassle. ferry, hotels etc.
i suppose if you had time, then it is no issue - but we do not get so many holidays here in CH.

i can't do that as i'm not a resident in switzerland. to buy i bike there i have to be a resident, so i've bought the bike in london.

Try posting your question in the MotorhomeFun-Forum, maybe somebody is travelling to the continent and brings your scooter over. Good luck!

You could always ask a friend who is resident to buy and register one for you? Then make sure that you are on the insurance and fully covered?

Alternatively, search this forum as there are sometimes offers from people moving to/from Switzerland who have space in their van/truck/trailer. Some even do regular trips between UK and CH so maybe you can get a cheap deal on a scooter sized space in the back of a van????
