Importing an older car?

Can anyone point me to where I can find more information about importing an older vehicle into Switzerland, eg, one that predates the EU certificate-of-conformity? Preferably in English or French, but in German if that's all that's available online.

The car is an EU-market, LHD, Porsche, so the spec should be the same as a Swiss-market car, and it's currently on UK plates.

Can I request something directly from the manufacturer that would satisfy the requirement? In France, I think I could complete a 'Demande d'identification' with the required information in place of a CoC - not sure if I can do the same in Switzerland? Can I write to the manufacturer to get a Swiss 'attestation de conformité' or something similar?

Re: Importing an older car?

I've just come up against the same thing. My '95 Jeep never had a COC so am waiting to see where I go from here.
