Hi Patrious
I'm so sorry for your bad experience in Switzerland. In my 25 years of living in this country, it happens to me twice. Not in the trains but in the main station of Zurich and Bern. Unfortunately the swiss paradise has been discovered all so by thieves.

I have a smile which girls can not resist. I don't need to dress as a clown to get attention.
Your insensitivity on this thread has been highlighted by many. If you want to insult rather than contribute, I'm sure there's an appropriate thread on another forum.

You seem to have quite a talent for it. Was it that you were born with this natural gift, or did you have to study long and hard to attain this level of wankdom?
The reason I ask is that you incessantly litter threads with troll like comments, and yet you maintain your reputation where other members would be banned for such utterances.
Simply curious, and, of course, no offence intended.

Oh Angela, so many stories like that in Peru!
It's good to always be alert...sometimes i walk around as if i was in the middle of Madrid, (very cautiously) and then i remember im in switzerland and i kinda relax again...but after reading these posts, hell no! Guard up, always!
Last time i got something stolen i was out on a business trip. They took my whole suitcase, and i had important meetings right afterwards...i was wearing my suit and...flipflops!!! My dressy shoes were on the out pocket of my suitcase...i guess my business partners were not impressed by the little peruvian looking girl with the flipflops!! | | This user would like to thank delfinita for this useful post: | |

true ... why steal when you can join politics instead? or become a respectable investment adviser with one of the illustrious firms who keep calling to offer those once-in-a-lifetime opportunities?

Hi All,
just to warn you thieves do shopping as well once the great job is done on the trains. One has just stolen my one month old Iphone in Denner... I had the feeling he was just standing too close to me but did not realise anything. I still can not really understand how did he manage to find it in my big bag??? I never find anything. Nevertheless, it seems nothing else is missing, ipod, wallet I still have (Gott sei dank).
Any idea how should I proceed? First go to Denner tomorrow morning, ask if they've a camera and then go to the police station? I'm gonna check with my insurrance, I think it's covered by an extra versicherung. hopefully....

My son who is currently on his way home on the train, has just phoned me to say that his wallet is missing from his bag ! He had it before the journey but is now gone. It has his GA card & 20 Fr in it. What happens if the inspector comes around? Will he still be allowed to travel home? I've told him to give his details to the inspector if asked for his ticket, but just worried that he's got another 2 trains to catch....will he be fined for each trip if caught?
Cheers
Cath

Perhaps he should go find the conducter and tell him what happened. It might be better than to wait to be found. He can replace the GA at his next stop by going to a ticket window but would need id (though his photo is on the GA.

He will have to pay 5 chf, which can be done within a few days of not having the ga or halbtax with you. He just needs to mention his name and address, the conductor will phone someone and check this, and then probably give him some receipt that he needs to take to the station, together with 5 CHF.
If he/she is nice, he might let him off because of the occasion.
Anyway, the above procedure applies also to people who forgot their GA/Halbtax. Normally, the conductor writes you something that explains you forgot it, which, together with a valid ticket, you can use if you switch trains later on, so you don't have to go through this twice or more times...

yep...me, too. Had my backpack stolen from the ticketing line at Zurich HB over the Summer. So many people there, and I had lots of luggage. Lost a laptop, and a few other valuables. Only time I have ever had something taken from me in 25 yrs of int'l travel. But Zurich in the Summertime is a haven for pickpockets and thieves. Go where the money is, i guess...
